Why Avalon Blue @ Derby

During the renovations for Avalon Blue @ Derby, we uncovered a stone with the engraving “Avalon 15.9.1947”.

The 15 September 1947 was the date of the Italian Armistice from WWII and the introduction of the instrument of surrender and entry into a treaty of peace.

This date was of apparent significance to previous owners of this lovely house, so we thought we should honour them and the sacrifice of all who passed in WWII.

The house
